The other bunnies here are all a little peeved and there has been a lot of muttering going on.
"Who does he think he is?"
"Flashy so and so"
"What does he look like in that cape?"

The Bunny Maker has never seen such a bunch of bunnies who are afraid to admit that Bat Bun is 'way cool'.  They are jealous, big time.
Bat Bun can FLY!  He can take is cloak on and off (it has an elastic bit, don't you know) and his felt bat logo is pretty dam splendid.

Our back garden yesterday.

You've filled our little village right up to the brim, which was kinda nice to start with.  School was shut, we all made igloos and thawed out with hot chocolate at neighbours houses, socks and gloves dripping on the radiators.
It was okay when you were all compacted because the car could cope.  Now you're turning to slush, and there is 8" of you slushing around outside our house and the car HATES you and won't go through you and just whirrs and groans, it's tyers spinning and spinning.  I can't go ANYWHERE.
I bet you're going to freeze tonight.  GNNNNNNNnnnnnn.
And the school will be shut.
And I have work to do.
Which means that the kids will be allowed to play 'with screens'.
Meaning they will meld to the playstation and bicker.

Enough already!

THE FARTHEST MOST NORTHERN DIVISION OF THE WARREN

It seems that all the bunnies bought before Christmas arrived safely in the new homes and have all had a fantabulous time over the holidays.  Our latest news is from The Farthest Most Northern Division of The Warren, all the way in Alaska, home of quite a large number of the sock bunnies!

These were the three bunnies who went to join all the others, all boxed up and waiting to be posted off....

Well I have not been to the blog in a while, and I see Monkeybun beat me to it. But I thought I'd send this along, just in case. :)
Sorry for taking so long to update you on the Farthest North Warren's newest members. They arrived just in time for Christmas Day and as you can see by the pictures below, they got on with helping decorate the tree straight away!

I marveled that they were so good about not gobbling their carrots on the trip over! Such willpower!

As they were finishing up, some sad news arrived from a dear friend of mine. A terrible tragedy had befallen her family due to an irresponsible person in her neighborhood. :( Upon hearing this, Father Christmas bunny set his face in a mask of resolve and insisted at once that I pack him back up in their traveling box so that he could be sent immediately by post the next day to give some cheer to my friend (who has wanted a sockbunny of her very own for some time now) and to place some well-deserved coal in a certain someone's stocking!

So Pudding Bun, Reindeer Bun and the rest of the bunnies in the warren bid him a tearful goodbye (so brave, he, to venture forth on this quest that would make most sockbunnies tremble!) and thanked him for coming to personally make sure our Christmas was a Merry one. We all begged that he give us news as soon as he reached his new destination.
He arrived some time later, safe and sound, at my friend's doorstep in Oregon, much to our relief. He has made quite an impression in his new home and is full of news about two living bunnies who were there to greet him along with my friend. And due to his irresistible cuteness, there is some talk about how her hubby will relent and perhaps allow her to bring home a sockbunny friend for him one day. :)
We will miss his jolly face. But we know that she is already taking great care of him. She even had some snacks ready for him the minute he arrived.
Thanks once again for allowing your dear bunnies to become part of our family! We're currently huddling in some serious subzero weather (about -40 F) and doing our best to keep one another warm and toasty! Luckily we have many blankets to huddle under, because I do not knit or crochet, and anyone who can is a marvel to me! :D

NEW ...Custom Buns.

The Bunny Maker is getting asked more and more for custom bunnies.  Amongst things she has managed 'X Box Bunny' and just finished one for a little girl who loves to read and drink tea.  Mo Bunny (pictured) is going to her new home with a handmade 'Carrot Manual' and a little polymer clay cup and saucer.

The Bunny Maker loves to do these custom orders but, as much fun as they are, they are becoming more and more time-consuming and there are extra costs involved for material etc.  So ..... Widget and Friends is now to officially offer 'Custom Buns', for a trial period, just to see how it all goes.  They will cost a bit more because all sorts of things will be included to make your bunny extra special and personal to you or the person you are giving it to.

WIDGET IS NOT THE ONLY BRAVE BUNNY

It seems that bravity is quite a bunny trait.
Widget is not the only bun who has been courageous of late.  Two bunnies, Harriet and Checkers, went to live with Huckleberry on his farm in the US of A a while back where they are trying to start up a farm along with Treacle, one of the Hotdogandme doggies.  Reading Huckleberry's blog, it seems that not alot ever gets done!

TJ AND THE SKY DANDRUFF

Thank you so much for sending in these great pictures to us, TJ.  The bunnies are still a little worried about those dogs though - they are pretty big, and you are pretty small.....

TJ wanted to let you know our snowfall was very little compare to yours and she is thinking about all the cold buns out there! She also wanted to send a few pictures:

At her first look at the snow, she thought maybe the sky had dandruff, but I explained to her how snow is made in the sky and she thought it was just magical!
She grabbed the ear of the eldest resident bun to go run and take a look. Bucky was quite impressed as well!

TJ had to check on the puppies while she was out, and they were just fine! (She doesn't know the bun-Dad brings them in at night from the cold.)

Before we headed back inside for some hot chocolate, she wanted her photo taken in front of the "mystical woods" as she calls them! Silly bun!

Everybun stay warm and think sunny thoughts! I know we will!

COSMOS SOCKBUNNY'S CHRISTMAS

This lovely email arrived for the bunnies, from little Cosmos.

Happy New Year to the Warren!

I have had a very exciting time over the last month, first of all a super Christmas card from you made me so excited I didn't stop bouncing until Laura got home to help me open it.  Thank you!

Christmas was even more fantastic than I imagined with pretty lights and extra carrots and then, Santa came! He brought me lots of little parcels and I now have super spare sleeping bags and a pink scarf!  I love them so much!  Santa must've thought I've been a good bunny!

We've had lots of fun out in the snow, although I must remember to wear my scarf outside rather than inside, do you like my snow-bunny-angel?

Love to everybun and hope 2010 is fabulous for you all!

WIDGET DOES A VERY BRAVE THING

Widget decided that, as there was NO FOOD in The Bunny Maker's fridge, he would go and get some.  The Bunny Maker wasn't too happy about it as it is a long way across the fields, having made the trip herself yesterday, and Widget is a small bunny of little stamina.  He went anyway but not before a new, bigger and warmer scarf had been securely tied on.  He also knew that what was needed were sausages, mince, a joint for roasting and some other bits.  This meant .... The Butchers, a place of terror for a small bun.

He hopped off bravely across the fields.  What he didn't know was that The Bunny Maker was following him, just in case.

On the way he came across something very, very confusing.  An enormous snow burrow.  What size bunny dug that? 

He didn't hang around for find out and did his fastest hopping on to the butchers.

Widget finds the butchers a very worrying place.  He asked (even though he has been told loads of times not to because he won't like what he hears) if they sold 'bunny' and the butcher replied 'Yes, they're hanging up in the back'.  He then offered to chop some up!   Widget was horrified. The butcher said that they didn't look like him as they didn't have clothes on!  At this point The Bunny Maker stepped out from behind the shelving and scooped Widget up.  He was shivering with fear.  "Silly bun, I told you not to come to the butchers on your own!".

They bought everything they needed (no rabbit) and Widget was snuggled down into a cosy pocket for the trip back. The Bunny Maker was so impressed with Widget's bravery, not only the long, snowy trip, but going to the butchers all on his own and facing his fears.  Perhaps Widget is a braver bunny than she first thought! 

A trip to the post office.

Just when the boys were finally back at school - the school was snowed shut.  So, they are all back home again - damnations.  Everyone was getting cabin fever and therefore it was decided that 'A Walk' was what was needed.  The Warren has had a few sales in the last week and, as the car is firmly frozen to the drive, the only way to get to the post office was on foot.

Widget found the snow a bit deep so hitched a lift in the backpack along with the parcels containing five very excited bunnies, all snug in their boxes.

 

Luckily we can walk out of our house, down the road, across the fields, along the canal, over another field and end up right at the village shop/post office.

(Please don't mention that wongly, hideous hat, he wears it to annoy me.)

 Everyone arrived safely but I don't think the post office is sending off it's post today so the bunnies will be in their boxes until the postman can get there to pick them up.  They all have scarves but only one has a carrot with him.  I hope they'll be okay in their boxes.

See? Such a dedicated service you are receiving from The Warren ..... getting bunnies to their new homes no matter the weather.  Heee heee.

FATHER CHRISTMAS IN OREGON

Yesterday saw all sorts of comings and goings at The Warren, amongst them was this email from Father Christmas bunny.

 I was so happy today when I opened the door to see a box waiting.. much to my surprise, a little bunny was inside! A good friend, MimzMum from Alaska had sent me FC as a cheering up gift! He quickly made himself at home, first snuggling in my lap giving me cuddles, then by making his way over to the treats... yummy craisins! Seems he has a taste for them. He's a little scared to meet the resident buns, as he heard crunching coming from that room, but he assures me once a friend of his arrives, he'll be happy to meet them then! (it was lettuce that was being crunched, although he doesn't believe me!)

He wanted everybunny at the Warren to know he made it to Oregon safely, and is right at home, snuggled up with Mouse, the live-in mouse. Don't worry, she doesn't bite.. she's a softie just like FC!

The bunnies here are very interested in these 'Craisins' - having not got anything similar here.  "Do they grow underground?", "Are they crazy raisins?" are just a few of the questions that The Bunny Maker is having to find answers to.

 

Glad you have found a great new home, FC, and that Mouse is going to be a pal for you.  Hope you'll be sharing that there carrot!
